The trigger is a count. When six or more coin symbols land on one spin, ordinary symbols are cleared, the coins stay where they are, and three respins begin on the empty positions. A respin that lands a new coin locks it and resets the count to three. A respin that lands nothing uses one of the three. When the count reaches zero, or when every position on the grid holds a coin, the round ends and the values on every coin are added up and paid.
Each coin carries a value in stakes, typically from one to fifty, drawn at random when it lands. Some coins carry a jackpot label instead: Mini, Minor, Major or Grand. A full grid, fifteen coins on a five-by-three game, usually pays the Grand on top of the coin values, which is where the format's largest results come from.
Tier | Typical value in stakes | How it is won |
Mini | 20 to 30 | A coin bearing the Mini label lands during respins |
Minor | 50 to 100 | A coin bearing the Minor label lands |
Major | 500 to 1,000 | A coin bearing the Major label lands, rare |
Grand | 1,000 to 5,000 | Every position filled with coins, or a Grand coin in a few titles |
The tiers are fixed in stakes in nearly every hold and win game at HoldNWin, not progressive, so they scale with the bet. A few titles run a progressive Grand; the game page says which. The exact values are in each paytable, and they differ between studios by a wide margin.
The largest hold and win catalogue in the lobby. 3 Pyramids of Gold, 5 Relics of Power, 3 Rail Express, 4 Bells Fire, Serpent Gold, Turbo Diamonds, Super Grand Link Express and Thunder Coins XXL all run the six-coin, three-respin round with four jackpot tiers and coin values that can be boosted by special symbols during respins. The house style is a busy respin round with collector and multiplier coins.
Coin Strike, Crown Strike, Royal Joker, Energy Joker and Diamonds Power use the same trigger with a cleaner respin round: coins, tiers, and in the Strike titles a mechanic that can strike every coin on screen with a new value. Playson's coin values tend to run higher and its Major tier is reached more often than in busier designs.
Hold the Spin is Gamzix's name for the format. 3x5 Hold The Spin, Coin Win, Coin Win 2 and Sunny Coin 10000 add mechanics inside the respins: coins that multiply neighbours, coins that collect the grid, and in Sunny Coin 10000 a top prize of 10,000x the stake.
Money Respin in Wolf Gold and Chilli Heat is the same round under another name: money symbols lock, three respins, Mini, Major and Mega tiers. Wolf Gold's Mega jackpot is fixed at 1,000x.
Money Train and its sequels take the format and give every locked symbol a job: collectors, payers, multipliers and resetters interact across respins, and Money Train 2's ceiling of 50,000x the stake is the highest of any hold and win design in the lobby.
Game | Studio | Grid | Trigger | Top tier |

Royal Joker | Playson | 5 x 3 | 6 coins | Grand |
Sunny Coin 10000 | Gamzix | 5 x 3 | 6 coins | 10,000x |
Thunder Coins XXL | 3 Oaks | larger grid | 6 coins | Grand |
Wolf Gold | Pragmatic Play | 5 x 3 | 6 money symbols | Mega, 1,000x |

One round of Coin Strike from a demo log at HoldNWin, at one stake, to show how the count works.
Total: 2 + 3 + 5 + 5 + 8 + 12 + 4 + 50 + 10, which is 99 stakes. Six positions stayed empty, so no Grand. The Minor coin was more than half the round. That is the usual shape: a handful of plain coins, and one tier coin or special coin deciding the result.
The plain coin with a value is the base of the format; the special coins are what separate one studio's round from another's, and they are listed line by line in each paytable.
A hold and win game stores most of its RTP inside the respin round, and the base game between rounds pays little. That makes the trigger rate the number that decides a session, and it is not printed in the paytable. In a demo log at HoldNWin, 3 Pyramids of Gold triggered the round four times in three hundred spins, paying 9, 14, 31 and 62 stakes; Coin Strike triggered three times, paying 12, 18 and 140 when a Major coin landed. The base game in both returned less than half the stake on average between rounds. A balance of two to three hundred stakes is the floor for a fair run of rounds.
Extra features inside the respins change the shape more than the tiers do. A collector coin in a 3 Oaks title can gather every value on the grid onto one position; a multiplier coin in Gamzix can double a neighbour. Rounds with those symbols are where the spread between a 9-stake round and a 62-stake round comes from.
Every promotion is published with its wagering requirement, game weighting and stake cap while the bonus is active. Hold and win games count in full toward wagering unless the offer says otherwise. A full-grid Grand can move a bonus balance a long way in one round, and a stake above the cap while a bonus is active voids it, so read the cap before playing with bonus funds. Free spin awards are tied to a named game at a fixed stake; their winnings carry the offer's wagering. Cashback, where offered, is calculated on net losses over the stated period.
Balances are in EUR. Deposits by Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller, Trustly and paysafecard are credited on confirmation. Withdrawals return to cards, e-wallets or bank transfer after identity and address verification; e-wallets are released first, and paysafecard cannot receive payouts.
The lobby runs in any phone browser without an app. Hold and win games are built for portrait screens, with the jackpot tiers above the reels and the respin counter beside them. Stake controls sit behind a menu icon; confirm the stake before the first spin, because every coin value is a multiple of it. Balance, bonus progress and limits follow the login.
HoldNWin is for adults of legal gambling age. Deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion are in account settings; a lower limit applies at once and a higher one after a cooling-off period. The base game between respin rounds is long and quiet, and the limit should be set for that, not for the round. Independent help is available from Gamblers Anonymous (https://www.gamblersanonymous.org).
The help centre at HoldNWin covers the recurring questions: why a round ended with respins left, what a collector coin did, whether a tier is fixed or progressive, and how verification and limits work. The support team is reached by chat or contact form from the account menu; account matters are handled only with the verified holder, and a self-exclusion request is applied at once.
Six, in nearly every game in the lobby. The paytable states the count.
It did not; the count reached zero after three respins without a new coin. A new coin resets the count to three.
Most are fixed in stakes. A few titles run a progressive Grand, and the game page says so.
Money Train 2 at 50,000x the stake. Sunny Coin 10000 pays up to 10,000x.
Yes. Every game opens in demo without an account, at the same RTP version as real play.

Yes. Money Respin is Pragmatic Play's name; Hold the Spin is Gamzix's. The round is the same: locked symbols, three respins, reset on a new one.
Open 3 Pyramids of Gold in demo, count the spins to the first six coins, then set a deposit limit for that wait and play for real. HoldNWin adds hold and win releases from every studio as they ship.
